Magnesium oxide is the raw material for smelting metal magnesium, which is white fine powder and has no odor. There are two types of magnesium oxide: light and heavy. They are light white amorphous powders that are odorless, tasteless, non-toxic and have a density of 3.58g/cm3. It is difficult to dissolve in pure water and organic solvents, and its solubility in water increases due to the presence of carbon dioxide. It can be dissolved in acid and ammonium salt solution and crystallized after calcination at high temperature. When encountering carbon dioxide in the air, magnesium carbonate complex salt is formed, a heavy dense, white or beige powder. Exposure to air easily binds to water, absorbing moisture and carbon dioxide. Magnesium solution mixed by chlorination is easy to solidify and harden.
Industrial grade light fired magnesia is mainly used for the production of magnesite products. Magnesium oxide and magnesium chloride aqueous solution according to a certain proportion of light combustion, such as solidification hardening into a certain physical and mechanical properties of the hardened body, called magnesite cement. Magnesite cement, a new type of cement, has the advantages of light weight, high strength, fire insulation, energy saving and environmental protection, and can be widely used in building materials, municipal engineering, agriculture, machinery and other fields. With the upgrading of industrialization and the demand and development of high-tech functional materials market, it has also carried out a series of research and production of high-tech and fine magnesium oxide products, mainly used in nearly ten varieties of high-grade lubricating oil, high-grade tanning alkali grade, food grade, pharmaceutical and other components, including silicon steel grade, advanced electromagnetic grade, high purity magnesium oxide and so on.
Advanced lube grade magnesium oxide is mainly used as cleaning agent, vanadium inhibitor and desulfurization agent in advanced lube oil processing to improve the density and rheological properties of lubricating film and reduce the ash content. Remove lead and mercury, reduce the pollution of lubricating oil or fuel waste to the environment, the surface treated magnesium oxide can also be used as a complexing agent, chelating agent and carrier in the refining process, more conducive to product fractionation and extraction, product quality. In particular, adding Mg0 in the combustion process of heavy oil can eliminate the damage of vanadic acid in heavy oil to the furnace.
Food grade magnesium oxide is used as magnesium in food additives, color stabilizers and pH regulators, as a vegetarian supplement for health supplements and foods. Used for sugar, ice cream powder, pH regulator and other decolorizing agents. It is used as an anti-caking and antacid agent in flour, milk powder, chocolate, cocoa powder, grape powder, powdered sugar and other fields, and can also be used in the manufacture of ceramics, enamel, glass and other dyes and other fields.
Medical grade magnesium oxide can be used as antacid, adsorbent, desulfurizer, lead removal agent and chelating filter aid in biopharmaceutical field. In medicine, it is used as an antacid and laxative to inhibit and relieve excessive gastric acid and treat diseases such as gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer. The neutralization of stomach acid is strong and slow, lasting, and does not produce carbon dioxide.
Silicon steel grade magnesium oxide has good electrical conductivity (i.e. high positive magnetic susceptibility) and excellent insulation properties (i.e. conductivity can be as low as 10-14us/cm in a dense state). It can form a good insulating layer and magnetic conductive medium on the surface of the silicon steel sheet, restrain and overcome the eddy current and skin effect loss (referred to as iron loss) of the silicon steel core in the transformer. Improve the insulation performance of silicon steel sheet, used as high temperature annealing isolator. It can also be used as ceramic materials, electronic materials, chemical raw materials, adhesives, auxiliaries, etc., used as phosphorus removal agent, desulfurizer and insulating coating generator in silicon steel.
Advanced electromagnetic grade magnesium oxide is used in wireless high frequency paramagnetic materials, magnetic rod antennas, and magnetic cores for frequency modulation components to produce instead of ferrites. It can be used in the production of composite superconducting magnetic materials, and can also be used in the electronic magnetic industry. Make it a "soft magnetic material." It is also an ideal raw material for industrial enamels and ceramics.
