The wet production process of Congo (Gold) Copper is generally "ore leaching- extraction- electrodeposition". In order to save costs, most of the cobalt products produced in the local area are mostly made by the above process. The most common crude cobalt compounds are the use of sodium carbonate cobalt to produce cobalt carbonate. However, the low cobalt in the rough cobalt carbonate is low, most of which are about 25%, increasing the transportation cost and other costs, and the sodium carbonate cobalt contains a large amount of sodium salt that is difficult to deal with. As the local environmental protection policies are gradually strict, a number of companies have begun to study more economical and environmentally friendly cobalt production processes. Magnesium oxide sinking cobalt technology is one of the directions.

Aiming at the Congo (Gold) local wet smelting factories, cobalt -containing copper extracting liquids in cobalt, and rear removal liquids, the effect of magnesium oxide and cobalt under different conditions was studied. In about four hours, the end point pH value is 8.0, and the cobalt sinking effect is used with magnesium oxide pulp. The cobalt hydroxide product is higher than 36%, the cobalt recovery rate is greater than 99%, and the utilization rate of magnesium oxide can reach 91%.

Recycling cobalt metals from the cobalt sulfate solution system generally adopts adding magnesium oxide paste to produce cobalt hydroxide products. Whether the concentration of magnesium oxide paste is kept stable. The increase in impurities in products, which affects the quality of the product, and the low concentration of magnesium oxide paste will cause a decrease in cobalt recycling.
